31 March 2017, CHIREDZI - Former Chiredzi North legislator and current Zanu PF Masvingo Provincial Secretary for Information, Ronald Ndaba is allegedly on the ground mobilising support base in Chiredzi urban's ward 1 as 2018 beacons.
Ndaba, who served two terms as Chiredzi North Legislator before he was outweighed by Robert Mukwena, is reported to have decided to try his luck in Ward One.
When contacted for comment, Ndaba denied harboring any ambitions of contesting in the 2018 elections saying people are spreading rumors.
"It's just rumours my friend; I have no interests to become a concillor. In fact if I wanted to be a councilor I could have done that before I became an MP back then. People just circulate rumours but I am not interested in any position," said Ndaba.
Ndaba, an alleged Lacoste faction loyalist, is believed to have diverted his attention from Chiredzi North to Ward One after strong other candidates emerge ahead of 2018 elections.
"Ndaba wanted to try his luck again as a parliamentarian in 2018 but has since decided to pave way for Roy Bhila who has covered more ground than any potential candidate. They are from the same faction and they cannot be seen contesting each other at primaries," said a close source.
Bhila could not be reached for comment by the time of going to press.politics
