21 April 2017, The Bulawayo High Court recently cleared Masvingo businessman Taurai Mudzviti, popularly known as Bucho, of charges of contravening the country's precious stones regulation laws following his arrest at Plumtree border post in November 2015 for unlicenced possession of 3.2 kg of gold.
When contacted for comment, Mudzviti said he had obtained court orders for the release of his property seized by the State.
"Everything is fine now. We ended up in the High Court and I was cleared of the charges last month. The charges were a mistake. For more details you can contact my lawyer Admire Rubaya," Mudzviti said.
Rubaya, however, promised to send the full details of the case but had not done so by the time of going to print.
Bucho was arrested together with Joshua Mabika when detectives from the minerals and border control unit stopped the car that the duo were traveling in en route to Botswana.local, topnews
