writer to explore youth struggles

Charles Mbengo, a 23-year-old former Midlands State University (MSU) student resident in Masvingo, says he will soon publish his first book which explores the dilemmas often faced by young people.
Titled 'The Catch: Life Lessons From a Fisherman', the book dwells on the often identical struggles of young people and dissects their frustrations while presenting possible solutions their life challenges.
In an interview with TellZim News, Mbengo said the book, which he started writing in July last year, will be launched at the end of September.
"Everything is almost in place for the launch of the book. It has been a journey for me, but I am glad I am now almost there," said Mbengo.
He said he was inspired by the lived experiences of fishermen who, despite often suffering big disappointments and hazards in the line of their work, always hold on to the hope that the next day will offer something better.
"The book is informed by daily experiences of fishermen as well as by the revelations that came to me after relating those experiences to the lived realities of other people, particularly the youth. It does not just analyse, but offers universal solutions. Fishing is therefore a metaphor for life.
"The book is intended to help the youth to make the right choices in life; sparing neither labour nor pain in their pursuit of the desires of their hearts instead of endlessly relying on the patronage and benevolence of others for survival," said Mbengo.education
