Masvingo provincial magistrate Peter Tomupeyi Madiba has bounced back after being suspended early this year on charges of gross incompetence.
Madiba was suspended on February 12 by the Judicial Services Commission (JSC) after an inquiry by the disciplinary committee found him guilty on four counts of incompetence.
The labour court which sat on July 18 exonerated Madiba of any wrong doing putting aside the July 12 verdict by the disciplinary committee.
In one of the charges, Madiba was accused of passing lenient sentences on some offences that would under normal circumstances require stiffer penalties.
According to a labour court document that is in possession of TellZim News, Madiba was reinstated as the Provincial Magistrate at Masvingo Provincial Magistrate court with immediate effect.
“The appellant be and is hereby reinstated as a Provincial Magistrate at Masvingo Provincial Magistrate court without loss of salary and benefits. The appellant to report for duty within 48 hours of granting this order,” reads part of the document.
